Insurance 1 has focused on the needs of special clients since 1988

In 1988, Insurance 1 – operating at the time under the name KMC – was established as one of the first independent insurance brokers for wealthy private clients in Germany. At the outset, the focus of our work included corporate pension solutions. In a sense we were one step ahead of our time. Our main focus was to define gaps in coverage, and then search for special solutions to reduce the net expenditure of our clients. We also used tax-privileged investments for conversion into secure pensions. While KMC initially concentrated on the Rhine-Main area, our range of action expanded over time considerably beyond the borders of this economic area.

Our mission is to meet the requirements of our clients

The change of focus from upscale private client advisor to corporate client broker was and is inspired and driven by the expectations of our clients. In order to better meet the professional requirements of our clients, we developed exclusive solutions and in this way occupied our own market niche. With increasing globalization, we have pushed forward since the turn of the millennium with the expansion of a qualified, property and liability business sustainable at international level because the demands in particular of small and medium-sized companies have markedly increased. Ever more enterprises, like large groups, have recognised during the economic crisis that the import and export trade and networking with global markets are the sole source of income. To meet this upscale demand of our clients in liability business, we started establishing contacts with international partners from 2004 onwards. In this way, we opened up new individual risk prevention solutions at international level to our clients.

Global solutions for the local market

Our access to international markets is constantly expanding because this is the only way we can offer our clients attractive concepts and insurance products which are seldom available on national markets. As OMC, approved and registered according to the terms and conditions of the FSA supervisory authority, we have secured direct access to the London insurance market in due time. The success of this strategy was proven especially during and after the financial crisis of 2008. With uncertain markets and worldwide losses, not only exquisite individual solutions are being sought but also partners with the best ratings.
